The marketing of UCIRI's products has been an ongoing process for the organization.  From the beginning, we have aimed to market our quality products directly to our clients, eliminating the "middleman".  This has generated an ideal among us that has gone beyond marketing to the inspiration and strengthening of other levels of organization, participation and development. 

The harvest of 1986/87 was our first export directly to Simon Levelt in Holland and GEPA in Germany.  Since then, our coffee beans have crossed the oceans to arrive in Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, France, Austria, Japan, Canada and the USA, all of whom have worked in solidarity with us in our struggle for dignity and justice for all.  It was this desire for dignity in our work that has led us to develop the Max Havelaar - Transfair alternative market, in solidarity with consumers mostly in Europe, Canada and the USA.  We also support Fair Trade Mexico (Comercio Justo México).  In order to be able to sell our products more efficiently on the national market, we have also joined other organizations in the trade group "Agromercados".

The negotiation of trade deals, the monitoring of market prices, the preparation of invoices and right down to the accounting -- all of these processes we have realized together, acquiring new abilities and knowledge that we have then been able to pass on to our coworkers.  Above all, we -- including all of our members -- have become aware of our own capacity as a socially strong, dedicated, and accomplished organization with the ability to continually develop stronger and stronger commercial relationships.

Today, our clients trust us as farmers due to our consistent quality organic product.  The capacity that we have developed as a social organization in the area of marketing we have shared in solidarity with other social organizations here in Mexico from the states of Chiapas, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Veracruz and Puebla.

Currently, along with several other organizations such as CEPCO, Majomut, and ANEC amongst others, we are part of Agromarkets (Agromercados), the group through which we are able to offer a higher quality and quantity of coffee in the national market.  Recently we have begun the sales of "Fertil" brand coffee -- one of the brands that sells UCIRI coffee.
